Geneva Hedge Fund Switzerland Tax Tax Ruling

Financial Times reports[1] that New York-headquartered hedge fund Millennium Management is currently in negotiations with the Swiss canton of Geneva[2] for a tax ruling for its Switzerland-based operations.

Geneva’s current headline maximum income tax today is 45% as compared to Zug’s 20%. A bespoke arrangement lowering the rate would make it more attractive for traders looking to relocate to Switzerland.

Inter-cantonal tax competition mirrors the global competitive landscape, with Bank Vontobel recently announcing[3] its relocation to Zug from Zürich[4].
